Water Coalition - Water Week

CERV-A-2023-0691
Civil College Foundation
Bács-Kiskun megye

Water quality and water supply problems affect two-thirds of Hungarian households, and the Water Coalition aims to ensure that clean drinking water is available to all people in the country, regardless of their social status or place of residence.

The Water Coalition was born out of the community organising programme of the Civil College Foundation, in cooperation with dozens of CSOs, trade unions and municipalities, to make the problem of drinking water supply visible to the public and decision-makers. The coalition aims to raise awareness on issues such as network coverage, equal access to water and water poverty through a series of Week of Water programmes and the Water News.

The initiative will achieve its goals if the Water Coalition is successful in building its social base, raising the national profile of water supply and water quality issues and, as a result, increasing the resources available to decision-makers for development.
