In the project we aim to research organizations' practices through our fieldwork in 2025 that could be useful practices for the Dajer Foundation in the long run, certainly could help to facilitate intergenerational understanding and knowledge transfer.
The Dajer focuses primarily on the equality representation of middle-aged women and their recognition as societal factors. It also addresses public, cultural and issues from the perspective of women in their 40s-60s.
They operated as an online magazine when the organisation started, and now have a separate open space in Budapest. Their work sheds a unique and sensitive light on the double face of middle-aged womanhood. Nowadays, with the advance of neuroscience, the fight for the recognition of reproductive and care work, there is a need for practices that exclude inequality, ageism and discrimination from our daily lives.
The selected 4 organisations would be visited in Italy, France, Spain and Austria and the Netherlands. In the project Róza Deák (MoME) will document the research with a focus on visual elements, while Szonja Deák (CEU) will be responsible for interviewing and writing textual reports and analysis for future objectives. Their educational background and previous community-artistic based activities fit the spirit of the project, and their student status would help to realize the fieldwork abroad.
As a possible output, we plan to organize a podcast, small gathering events in the community space of the Dajer.
