"Together against violance" campaign

Every student has the right to be safe and treated with dignity, not to be discriminated against or harassed, even at school. The "Don't Hurt Each Other" campaign was launched by the 8K Foundation to raise awareness of bullying and harassment in school communities, to take action against bullying in schools and to foster a culture of supportive, respectful public discourse.

An important outcome of the campaign is the Anti-Bullying Pact: a written commitment that anyone can sign up to. TThe Pact encourages students to respect human rights, fosters community cooperation, responsibility and tolerance, mutual respect and empathy.

Signatories also helped to raise awareness of the seriousness of the problem by taking part in "red card" photo shoots, and classes who were willing to do so could organise mini campaigns in their school community, which they kept Pact diaries about. The nine weeks of the campaign were accompanied by online peer-to-peer discussions, mainly for students, parents and teachers, but also open to the public.

More than nine thousand people, mainly upper secondary and secondary school students, signed the Pact.
