The initiative aims to support condominium residents in Budapest to become active and democratic communities. To this end, a community organisation methodology will be developed, tested and disseminated. Other objectives include increasing civic engagement and promoting cooperation between people from different social backgrounds living in condominiums.
Once the community organisation methodology has been developed, the organisation will organise citizen workshops on different topics with several residents' associations, and then carry out a participatory action research with community organisation in a selected block of flats.
The cooperation will involve residents, community representatives, experts and NGOs. By involving and learning about the methods used, the residents' associations will be able to act more effectively for their common interests in the future, and the initiative will also promote the right to adequate housing.
The community organising capacity created within the organisation will be made available to other housing associations, municipalities, experts and NGOs in the future.
