Legal assistance with Roma, for Roma

The state of the rule of law in our country has hit Roma living in extreme poverty particularly hard. A priority and urgent task is to ensure the right to housing for people living in segregated areas, which is seriously threatened by the legislative changes of the last decade and a half and the land ownership status based on dispossession, which has been unsettled in the land registry for decades. To address this problem, the initiative has developed a pioneering practice over the past years and has gained considerable experience in working with the relevant offices, judges and lawyers. the project aims to disseminate the experience gained through the legal aid service widely through various communication channels, and thus help other regions to address similar problems. In addition, it is of particular importance to raise awareness of the importance of legal aid among young Roma and non-Roma professionals active in Baranya County and to encourage them to participate in this kind of activities.
