The Hungarian Trade Union Confederation, in partnership with the Hungarian Helsinki Committee, has reaffirmed the role of the fundamental rights of workers, trade unions, and collective rights—as defined under the “Solidarity” heading of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union—in trade union advocacy and representation. During the project, relevant legislative and judicial decisions were analyzed from a fundamental rights perspective, and decision-makers were urged to ensure adequate protection of workers’ fundamental rights. Argumentation templates have been developed for use in advocacy meetings and legal proceedings. Two strategic action plans have been created. Information and legal awareness-raising activities were carried out through communication and training, which brought to the attention of trade unions and employees the importance of protecting fundamental rights and the possibility of legal remedies against violations of those rights.
