In Hungarian public and professional discourse, the concept of a “good school” is typically defined by metrics such as further education rates, competition results, and the proportion of students passing language exams. However, these outcomes often reflect the selectivity of the student body rather than the school’s pedagogical quality. The Association for Inclusive Education contends that a “good school” provides opportunities for all children to develop, regardless of their background or social circumstances. Inclusive education deserves recognition, as such institutions create genuine value by ensuring every student has a chance for social advancement.

The Association aims to reshape public understanding of the “good school” by emphasising that truly good schools offer tailored support to each student, enabling them to realise their potential. They launched a national campaign under the “Good School” banner, highlighting inclusive education as a core educational value. The campaign showcased inclusive and integrated schools and their pedagogical methods. In the long term, the initiative seeks to secure a prominent place for inclusive education in public discourse and educational policy, fostering a more open and equitable education system in Hungary.
