The project responded to the need to enrich both Roma communities’ self-image and the way Roma people are portrayed in the media. Its objective was to strengthen the Aranypánt (Golden Bracelet) Award and make everyday Roma heroes more visible; this has largely been achieved. Key outputs: the Aranypánt Book, an award gala, an outdoor exhibition in Budapest’s City Hall Park, and a series of online videos and podcasts. Outcomes include increased recognition for Roma professionals, stronger media and NGO partnerships and wider public awareness. Beneficiaries – nominees, their communities and the wider public – were involved through nominations, events and storytelling. Results will be sustained through annual editions of the award, continued online access to materials and growing community-based fundraising.
