The central theme of the initiative was raising social awareness of borderline personality disorder (BPD) and reducing the stigmatisation of those affected. Offline and online awareness-raising and educational materials were produced – podcast episodes, videos, leaflets, a website, presentations and a workshop – which contributed to reducing the stigma and prejudice caused by mental illnesses. The initiative opened up a dialogue between patients living with the diagnosis and those around them, as well as between laypeople and professionals. The awareness-raising materials created will, in the long term, continue to contribute to the ever wider dissemination of credible information about the vulnerable group living with BPD and to strengthening equality.
